If my mother passed last year, how do I update her profile and file her tax return?

The only thing you will need to do is answer a question in the Personal Info section. Log in to your mother's TurboTax account and start her 2020 tax return.  On the Personal Info Summary page, click edit next to your mother's name.  Scroll down to the questions in #3 and mark the button for " I'm preparing this return for [your mother's name], who has passed away." and then enter the date of death.  This will trigger the program to make the  necessary changes to your mother's final return.

And be aware she can still get both the Stimulus payments if she didn't get either of them.  The second one may have come after she passed.  My mother died in Oct too.

For deceased individuals see the second question under Eligibility.  If they died in 2020 they still get it.
