If I want Max off and I've filed but its pending so does that mean I've already paid?

Since you have already filed, you would need to contact TurboTax Customer service.  

 

Your status is pending because the IRS will not start accepting returns until January 29, 2024.

Did you choose to pay your fees by having the fees deducted from your federal refund?   If you made that choice, then when the IRS issues your refund, it will go first to a third party bank.  The third party bank will take out the amount you owe to TurboTax, along with the "refund processing fee" you agreed to ---an extra $40, or extra $45 in CA--- and then send you the rest of the refund.   

 

So, yes, in effect, you have already paid and it is too late for you to remove MAX.  Sorry.
