I went back to adjust my return on 01/7/2017. Will my adjust refund amount be sent to IRS

Whoa!  Had you already filed it?  Then do not change anything.  They only get the first one.  You have to wait until Jan 23 (or soon after) to see if the IRS Accepts or Rejects it.  If they reject it you can fix it and resend it.  If they accept it then you have to mail in an Amended 1040X return to correct it.  SO PUT YOUR RETURN BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS WHEN YOU FIRST FILED IT.
