I was audited by State/Fed. Are the accountant fees that I paid to assist me with that process tax deductible?

I was audited by State/Fed. Are the accountant fees that I paid to assist me with that process tax deductible?

If the costs of representation were incurred for business, they could be deducted as legal and professional fees on your Schedule C (if you file as sole proprietor).  If they were not incurred for business, they would not be a deductible expense on your return.
