I want to use turbo tax next year. Can I file my rural tax credit through your site

Is there an area on your website to put in my rural tax credit for a dental hygienist?

I took a look ... the program allows you to enter the credit amount however you must compute the credit yourself and attach the form to the return when you mail it in ... the return cannot be efiled.

An eligible health care practitioner who has provided health care services in New Mexico in a rural health care underserved area, as determined by the Department of Health, may claim a credit against their personal income tax liability.

Eligible pysicians, osteopathic physicians, dentists, clinical psychologists, podiatrists, and optometrists may be allowed a credit up to $5,000. Qualified dental hygenists, physician assistants, certified nurse-midwives, certified registered nurse anesthetists, certified nurse practitioners and clinical nurse specialists may be allowed a credit up to $3,000.

Practitioners must first submit an application to, and be approved by, the New Mexico Department of Health and be issued a certificate for qualifying as an eligible health care practitioner.

To claim this credit, complete Form RPD-41326 and attach it to your return along with the certificate received from the Department of Health.

For certification, contact:
New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH)
(505) 841-5849
RHCP.TaxCredit@state.nm.us
www.health.state.nm.us.

For assistance claiming the credit, call TRD at (505)476-3683.
