I want to print my federal and state why do I have to signup for Adobe PDF

TurboTax does not actually print directly to a printer. When you "print" in TurboTax it creates a PDF, which you then print from Adobe Acrobat Reader. Acrobat Reader is free. You do not have to sign up for anything. You just download it and install it.

You can try using a different PDF reader if you want to, but Adobe Acrobat Reader is recommended to avoid compatibility problems.
