I want to know where my refund is

I tried the irs site that kept telling me to put the total due to me and when I entered it, it said wrong

Yes, when you check for your refund progress using the Where's my refund? tool, you need to enter the federal refund only. Don't include any state refunds, or deductions for fees.

Sometimes people get confused by the “summary” given by TurboTax and use the wrong amount for the federal refund. Make sure you are only using the federal refund amount, and not an amount that combined your federal and state refunds.
