Huh?  We are currently filing 2018 returns for the year that ended 12/31/18.  We don’t do 2019 until next year in 2020.

Are you trying to file a 2018 return?  Then you need the 2018 program.
To do a 2017 return that was due April 2018 you need the 2017 program.

You buy the same year program that you are filing.  What year program did you buy?

If the software says 2018 it is for 2018 income and you have the right one.
If it says 2017 on it then it is for 2017.

Oh is it starting out asking for 2017?  Yes that is to Transfer your 2017 return into 2018.

Did you buy the CD or download?  If you think you got the wrong program call in.
