I've just received my Federal Tax Return refund. However, I noticed that I'm missing my return form NY Tax Return. Are they sent out separately? (return stat is accepted)

Yes. The federal government and the several states operate coordinated, but parallel, tax systems. Information is shared, but the state processing of tax returns, issuance of refunds, and collection of tax due is completely separate from the federal system conducted by the IRS.
