No, you do not have to file something with the IRS. If you have filed joint returns with your spouse then the IRS knows you filed. What messages are you receiving? Are they coming from an "old" TurboTax account? If you know that you filed then you can ignore those messages. Or you can change your email settings and unsubscribe to messages from that account.

"unsolicited calls from tax settlement companies..."
Not sure what those are----but the IRS does not call you. Those calls are likely just scammers and should be ignored.
Try checking your online account with the IRS (and if you filed a joint return—check for BOTH of you)

As odd as it may sound, the tax department at turbotax (which might know that you filed jointly) is not allowed to communicate with the marketing department, so the marketing department only knows that you didn't file yet using your old account. Just unsubscribe from emails on that account.
Your tax return data on the old account may become locked or deleted if you don't use the account for several years in a row. If you have not already done so, you should download a pdf of "all forms and worksheets" to save to your computer now, as a backup.
