I've already paid for both federal and state tax submissions, but my state isn't accepting yet. How can I submit federal only? It won't let me remove state.

Once the tax return has been e-filed it cannot be retrieved, cancelled or changed.

In the FILE tab simply choose to efile the federal only ... choose to mail in the state for now.  After the fed has been accepted for processing then you can come back and efile the state.
