If you have been claimed as a dependent for 2020 and had no income for 2020---why did you file a tax return?  What are you trying to do?   You will not be in "trouble"   but dependents do not get a stimulus check if that is what you were trying to do.

Actually dependents are eligible for them this time, Its not like i was trying to just get the money.. I was trying to make sure he was going to get it, I haven't really filled before like this, I know I'm an adult ect. But I honestly thought that since I started I was a claimed dependent that it would just update my into when I entered file! I know sounds stupid but that's what I thought

No, sorry,  you misunderstood.   You do not get a stimulus check if you are claimed as someone else's dependent.   The rules have changed for the 3rd check and a person who claimed you can get the $1400 for you.   It does not come to you.

For the first two stimulus checks , they only sent checks for dependents under the age of 17.   For the 3rd one, the dependent can be over 16 or an adult----but the check goes to the person who claims the dependent.
