I thought I filed my income tax in May or early April. Finding no return, I went to where I filed and found that I had not completed the filing. Completed today. Penalty?

If you are getting a refund there is no penalty for filing after the deadline. If you owe tax due, expect a bill from the IRS for the penalty/interest, based on how much you owed and when they receive your payment.
