I still haven't received my 2016 tax return

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

I haven't received my 2016 taxes and they mailed it out January 2 2018

And I also haven't received my 2015 they sent those ones out on December 15 2017

Does the IRS have the correct mailing address for you?

If the return has been processing for more than 21 days you can call the IRS.....

Call the IRS:  1-800-829-1040  hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday

When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.  

So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info).  Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.

Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".  

Then press 4 "for all other questions."

Then press 2 "for all other questions."  It should then transfer you to an agent.

If it's been more than 90 days since the return was accepted  then you can ask for help from the Tax Payer Advocate office:

At the following IRS website, find the USA map and click on your state, and it will give you the number of your IRS Taxpayer Advocate.

I filed 2016 return with Turbotax. Refund is $712, said it was printed but, I never received it. Please check status of return.

 Is that a Federal or state refund?    Have you not checked on it before during all this time?

 Did you use Online TurboTax for 2016 a couple of years ago, and are you saying that when you log in and look in "Your Tax Returns & Documents", the 2016 return status shows "Printed?"   If so, that means it was not efiled.  So did you choose to file it by mail?  And if so, did you print and mail it to the IRS and any state return (if applicable) to the state tax agency?   If you did not efile, and if you did not print and mail, then it has not been filed.   TurboTax does not mail it for you.

If you did print and mail it to the IRS, we can tell you how to speak to a live agent at the IRS to check on the refund.  No one else can check on it for you.

 If it turns out it has not been filed, you can still print it out, sign, and mail it.

We can tell you more when you respond to all of the above.

You're posting in an old thread.  This is mainly a user community forum.  What are you wanting to ask users in this forum?   Is  your question the same as the title of this old thread?--i.e., are you asking about a 2016 Federal refund you have not received?   If so, you need to see if the 2016 return was successfully filed, and if necessary, we can tell you how to check with the IRS.    Did you efile it, or did you chose to print and file by mail?

Was it prepared in Online TurboTax?  If so, log in to your account and at the Tax Home scroll down to the section "Your Tax Returns & Documents."   Expand that section and choose tax year 2016.   What is displayed for  "status" of the 2016 return?  Does it say accepted, rejected, started, printed, ready to mail, or what?

What do you mean did not receive a tax return "in" 2016?   In the year 2016, it was 2015 returns that were being filed.  Tax year 2016 returns were not filed until 2017.    What exact tax year return are you referring to?  I suspect you're referring to a 2016 tax return, but the way you worded it, that could be interpreted a couple of ways.

In any case, are you sure it was successfully filed?   Was it efiled, or did you choose to print and mail?

Was it prepared in Online TurboTax?   If so, log back into your Online account and at the Tax Home, scroll down to the section "Your Tax Returns & Documents".  Expand that section and choose the proper tax year in question.   Does it say that that return was filed in that account, and what does it show for the status--accepted, rejected, printed, started, ready to mail, or what?
