I started my state return for SC and it appears Turbo Tax is not giving us the BBB $6000 credit for my husband, will this be updated soon?

2025-2026 Senior Citizen State of South Carolina and Federal Tax Deductions may be found here.  I see no BBB $6000 credit.

The $6,000 Enhanced Deduction for Seniors is found on the Federal income tax return.  It is reported on IRS Schedule 1-A Part V lines 31 through 37.

The additional deduction is automatically included in your tax return when you complete the personal information section of TurboTax and enter your date of birth and filing status.  There are other qualifications.  See here.

Deduction for Seniors

  • New deduction: Effective for 2025 through 2028, individuals who are age 65 and older may claim an additional deduction of $6,000. This new deduction is in addition to the current additional standard deduction for seniors under existing law.
    • The $6,000 senior deduction is per eligible individual (i.e., $12,000 total for a married couple where both spouses qualify).
    • Deduction phases out for taxpayers with modified adjusted gross income over $75,000 ($150,000 for joint filers).
  • Qualifying taxpayers: To qualify for the additional deduction, a taxpayer must attain age 65 on or before the last day of the taxable year.
  • Taxpayer eligibility: Deduction is available for both itemizing and non-itemizing taxpayers.
    • Taxpayers must:
      • include the Social Security Number of the qualifying individual(s) on the return, and
      • file jointly if married, to claim the deduction.

The total of IRS Schedule 1-A may be found on line 13b of the IRS form 1040.

Are you asking about the federal "senior deduction" that appears on your federal Form 1040?

The “senior deduction” is added automatically by the software based on the date of birth and filing status you entered into MY INFO.  You do not need to take any extra steps to enter it. (And…the new senior deduction has nothing to do with whether you are getting Social Security)

2025 STANDARD DEDUCTION AMOUNTS

SINGLE $15,750  (65 or older/legally blind + $2000)

MARRIED FILING SEPARATELY $15,750  (65 or older/legally blind +1600)

MARRIED FILING JOINTLY $31,500  (65 or older/legally blind + $1600)

HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD $23,625 (65 or older/legally blind + $2000)

For 2025 through 2028 there is an extra  deduction amount of up to $6000 per individual 65 or older filing Single, MFJ, or HOH which is phased out for taxpayers with modified adjusted gross income over $75,000 for single filers and $150,000 for joint filers.

(The deduction phases out completely at $175.000 Single or HOH, or $250,000 joint)

The $6,000 senior deduction will be calculated on 1040 Schedule 1-A page 2 Part V Enhanced Deduction for Seniors which goes to 1040 line 13b. It is separate and in addition to the Standard Deduction or your Itemized Deductions on 1040 line 12e.  Turbo Tax automatically includes it.

No I'm referring to SC state taxes in TurboTax, I messaged SCDOR and this was the response:

We don’t have a specific timeline since this decision will be made by the State Legislature, not the SCDOR. Get the latest legislative session information at SC State House.

What Congress communicated with; the BBB document, social media, new organizations, plus all IRS publication "summaries" is NOT what they actually implemented for 2025 tax filing:

• The "Big Beautiful Bill", 1040 verbal instructions and Publication 501 "What's New" section described the new "Enhanced Senior" $6,000 additional standard deduction per senior taxpayer for 2025.
However:  The controlling IRS guidance used to complete Form 1040 — the "Chart for people who were born before 1/1/1961" in the 1040 Instructions (and the same chart in Publication 501) — implements a much smaller add-on in practice.  A small fraction of what was communicated.
• Example: Married filing jointly, both age 65+, yields $31,500 base + $1,600 + $1,600 = $34,700 (not $43,500).  Unless both are blind which returns the highest benefit of $37,900 (refer to chart).

I just came across this when completing my own income tax return yesterday and confirmed this with TurboTax.  The calculation table is the official source (NOT what has been communicated by Congress and provided to IRS).
