I selected the wrong option for my recovery rebate credit. I did not receive it but I put I had. How do I change that?

The IRS will adjust your tax return and remove the credit from the federal tax refund. There is no need to amend.

I owe money. Do I just pay and wait for a reply? I'm still waiting on a trace for my original credit and why it never got to me.
