I recently paid my 2020 taxes but my account is not showing updated with the IRS . I filed my taxes for 2021 and getting a refund. Will my 2020 status effect my refund?

Will I get my refund although my full payment for 2020 (that was sent in January) has not yet posted to the IRS site?

Please explain what you mean.  Everyone is currently preparing and filing 2020 tax returns.   If you paid tax due for a 2020 tax return, what refund are you looking for?   No one will prepare or file a 2021 return until next year in 2022.

Do you really mean that you paid your 2019 tax due in January?    Did you e-file a 2020 tax return that shows that you are getting a 2020 refund?

How did you pay?  If you mailed a check, the IRS might not have processed it yet, as they are woefully behind.  Has it cleared your bank?  If you paid on the IRS website via direct debit or credit card, you should be okay if you have a confirmation number, or if the payment has cleared your bank or credit card.

And, by the way, we filing 2020 taxes now (not 2021).  So did you pay 2019, or 2020?
