I received interest from the IRS in Feb 2017 with my tax refund for tax year 2014. Should I report the interest on my 2015 tax return or on my 2017 tax return?

I know how to report interest income from the IRS.  I'm asking in which tax year I should report that interest income.

You should report the interest income received during 2017 as income on your 2017 tax return.

A Form 1099-INT should be forwarded to you by mid-February 2018.
