I received an audit in the mail saying that I owe what i was supossed to get in my return. What should I do?

you should do what the letter says..

1) how much were you expecting as a refund

2) what does the IRS say you now owe?

if that is a multiple of $1400 or $1800, it probably relates to Lines 28 and 30 of Form 1040.  Millions of taxpayers had errors on these two line items.
