I received a refund when I filed, but now the refund is less on the amendment. How do I handle this?

You are still receiving your original refund amount.

The tax calculator on Turbo Tax resets to zero when you start the amend process.

The amount on your 1040X is either additional refund (Line 22) or an amount due that has to be paid back to the IRS (Line 20).

The total amount of refund for your return is the original refund amount plus the refund (if applicable) on your Form 1040X

You can get further information on amending your return by going to the link below and clicking on the year “2016” printed in blue ink.
