Perhaps, if you filed using the standard deduction, put the form with your other tax documents. You will likely not need to refer to them again.
If you filed itemizing deductions including mortgage interest, you may want to check to see whether your 2021 tax return will change for the better or worse after reporting the corrected IRS form 1098. You would have to amend your accepted 2021 tax return and enter the corrected form into the TurboTax software to see whether you would owe additional tax or be owed a refund.
I did file using the standard deduction. Does that mean I don't have to amend?
Correct, you do not have to file an amended return
because you choose the Standard Deduction
AND because the amount of principal paid makes no difference on your tax return.
