I received a 5071c letter but the status of my refund says accepted. What to do?

Apparently, the IRS does not yet believe that you are who you say you are. Either they were unable to verify your identity, or you e-filed and they received another return with your name/SSN on it in the mail and that of course, has raised flags. Follow the instructions in the letter *EXACTLY* to verify your identity with the IRS. Until you do that, your return is on hold and you will NOT get any refund you may be due.
