I put the wrong ssn digit my return
Your return will be rejected when the IRS starts to accept/reject on Jan. 27. Then you can fix it and re-file.

I put the wrong ssn digit my return
I Have not received anything from the IRS about the wrong social security number I put on my 1040 electronic return. Should I continue to wait or re-file, or file an amended return??

Since your return has already been submitted, you would need to wait until it has been processed and/or rejected. Once it has been rejected, then you will have the opportunity to fix it. If you would like to reach out directly to the IRS in the meantime, see this FAQ regarding How to contact the IRS.
