If your return was already accepted you can ask the IRS to stop the direct deposit before it posts at 1-800-829-1040. See answer below for more details.

If you already e-filed and your return gets accepted, if the information you provided is for a closed or invalid account, the government will issue you a refund check via mail. 

If your return hasn't already posted to the IRS's system, you can ask them to stop the direct deposit. You may call them toll-free at 1-800-829-1040, Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. 

If you haven't filed yet, or your return gets rejected, you could change your Direct Deposit information, by completing the steps below:

• Sign in to TurboTax account
• Click on Take me to my return button
• Click on the File tab 
• Continue going through the screens, to edit your direct deposit information.

There isn't a take me to my return button. I've done all the troubleshooting and it's still no there.

Did you already file? If so, it will no longer show. If not, are you using the TurboTax CD/Download version?
