When filing taxes, i accidentally put down 5/3/21 as my sons birthday instead of 5/3/22.
will the irs still reject it? If they do accept it then what do i need to do.

It will probably be rejected. Wait and see. If it rejects you can fix it and re-file. Do not try to make any changes while it is in pending.
They rejected it, I fixed all the issues I seen wrong and re-submitted it.
Last year when I filed, it was accepted within 30 minutes. This year, it’s taking forever. I submitted on 2/8 which is when they rejected it. It’s been 48 hours. Should I be worried? Wonder what’s taking so long?
There could be a couple of reasons why you might be experiencing a delay:
1. First, the status might be pending for security reasons. This may be a sign that someone is trying to use your identity to file a tax return. This can take up to 72 hours, after which your return will then be forwarded to the IRS, or if applicable, rejected. If rejected, you can then correct the rejection issue and resubmit. Please see this FAQ for reference.
2. Secondly, there could be a delay if your return has various refundable credits, such as the Earned Income Credit, Investment Credit, Energy Credits, or Business Credits. You may need to wait a few more days and check your filing status again. Please see this FAQ for additional information.
Note: Both instances may be applicable. That is, you could have a hold for security reasons first. And additionally for verification of the refundable credits in your return. In this case, delays might extend beyond 72 hours.
Additionally, if you have Form 5695 and claiming joint occupancy, the IRS will not be accepting these returns until 3/16/25. You can see this on this IRS site. The language you see below is from Row 39 of the Tax Year 2024 spreadsheet.
Taxpayers claiming Joint Occupancy on Form 5695 will have to file via paper if filing their return before the Form 5695 schema is updated in mid-March. This temporary limitation should only impact a subsection of Form 5695 filers. For a preview of the TY24 draft form and instructions for Form 5695, please see the Draft tax forms on IRS.gov at https://www.irs.gov/draft-tax-forms. Submission of Forms 5695 that do not claim Joint Occupancy may be e-filed at the start of Processing Year 2025
I’m getting the tax credits because of dependents but I also did last year and that was accepted within 30 minutes of filing. Maybe I’m just too impatient LOL.
They finally accepted my return late last night. When should I expect my transcripts to be updated with that information?
How long did it takes for them to reject it
It usually takes 24-48 hours. If you need to know why your return is rejected, it's in the email you got. You can also see it in TurboTax after you sign in and choose Fix my return.
If the reason your return was rejected was because the information from a child doesn't match the IRS database, make sure the Social Security numbers, the dates of birth, and names you entered. If you make any changes, resubmit the return.
The IRS receives this information from the Social Security Administration (SSA). If the SSN you entered is correct, you need to contact the SSA at 800-772-1213. If SSA records need to be corrected, it can take up to four weeks for the IRS to receive this info. Wait four weeks and then refile. If your return continues to be rejected, or if you don't want to wait four weeks to refile electronically, you may print and file by mail.
