It depends. When you were completing your amended return, did you enter that you made the payment for the original return? See Form 1040X, line 16.

If there is an amount there but you did not pay, that is wrong.
If there isn't an amount there, then pay what is owed on Form 1040X,

Son originally filed claiming himself, he amended his return to not claim himself but mine still rejects because of his SSN. How do I file now and claim him as dependent?
