If the original tax return was never filed, then you do not file an amended tax return. You only file the original tax return which will include any changes that you entered on the amended tax return.
Using the TurboTax online editions cancel the amended return and then go back through the original return to change any of your tax data on the 2019 tax return.
To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.
This will take you back to the 2019 online tax return. Click on Cancel Amend on the left side of the screen.
Then go back through the 2019 tax return to add, edit or delete on the original tax return.
Once the tax return has been completed and you have gone though the Review section, File the tax return.
You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large Orange button labeled "Transmit my returns now".
After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.
