You can remove the EIC by following the instructions below:

• Federal Taxes (Personal if using TurboTax Self Employed or Home and Business)
• Deductions & Credits
• You may need to click on Skip to see all tax breaks
• Scroll down to You and Your Family and click on Show More
• Earned Income Credit (EIC)
• Start or update

Follow the interview questions until you see the screen that asks "Do any of these uncommon situations apply?  Then choose the option  "I got an IRS notice saying that I can’t claim the Earned Income Credit in 2016"

This will remove the EIC from your return and you can e-file.
