I need to mail my 2017 taxes, but when I try to download the form, it’s a 98 page doc. How do I know which documents to print out and mail?

You only need to print the 2017 tax return Form 1040, Form 1040A or Form 1040EZ for federal and any supporting Forms and Schedules which are in the PDF that have an Attachment Sequence Number entered in the upper right corner of the Form or Schedule. None of the worksheets or information only pages are sent with the tax return.

A 2017 tax return can only be printed and mailed, it cannot be e-filed.

Print, sign, date and mail the tax return to the IRS. Include with the mailed return any forms W-2 and 1099 which have taxes withheld. Go to this IRS website for mailing addresses - https://www.irs.gov/filing/where-to-file-paper-tax-returns-with-or-without-a-payment

There are no penalties for filing a tax return after the due date if filing for a tax refund or there are no taxes owed.
