I used "TURBOTAX DESKTOP PREMIER TAX YEAR 2021 ACCESS FROM DELUXE" to complete and file my 2021 return. I had a bad hard drive crash and apparently lost it. Is there some way I can get a copy of it from someplace? I already got a transcript from the IRS, but it doesn't match my recollection of what I filed. I've also requested a copy from the IRS (form 4506), but it takes 30 days and there's no guarantee they even have it.
I also need to get a copy of the software, but the "View My Downloads" button no longer brings up the product I purchased.
No, I did not have a backup 😢
Thank you1

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created. TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.
for a Windows PC the default folder is c:\users\user-name\documents\turbotax\
However, you can no longer open the xxxxx.tax2021 file, since it is no longer supported. If you did not save a copy as a PDF, then it would seem your only options are to obtain a copy from the IRS using FORM 4506
and paying it $30

Or get a transcript, which can be obtained online by setting up an account with the IRS or a copy through the mail by filing FORM 4506-T.
