I need to file my 2016 taxes still before I do my 2017, how do I go about this when all the questions on here are for the 2017 year?

You can only prepare the current year taxes online.  You can prepare and file your 2016, 2017,  and 2018 tax return(s) in TurboTax software using the CD\Download versions.  Order the appropriate TurboTax software from our past years' products page

 

You also won't be able to e-file your prior year income tax return. You will have to print it out and mail it.

 

If you're expecting a refund, you have until April 18, 2020 to paper-file your 2016 return and claim your tax refund.  It may be tempting to procrastinate, but please don't. After that date, all unclaimed 2016 tax refunds end up in the U.S. Treasury.
