More info is needed. Which of these situations applies to you?
- Do you need to start a new 2024 return that you had not previously started? If so, that cannot be done online. You would need to buy 2024 desktop software and install it on your computer if you wish to use TurboTax.
- Or did you previously start a 2024 online return and now need to finish it? If so, we can tell you how to download the *.tax2024 data file so you can open and finish it in the 2024 desktop software. If you already paid for a 2024 online product, TurboTax Support "should" furnish you the software to install.
- Or did you previously finish a 2024 online return but never filed it, and now need to download the PDF so you can file by printing, dating, signing, and mailing? If so, we can tell you how to find the 2024 return PDF in your online account. To make any changes in it, however, you would need to use the 2024 desktop software.
Whichever situation you have, be aware that a 2024 return cannot be efiled with TurboTax. It will have to be printed, signed, dated, and mailed--a Federal return to the IRS and a state return (if applicable) to the state tax agency. It's recommended to mail them with a method that has tracking.
