I need to download the documents for my 2018 original 1040, not my 1040x. How can i do this?

The website only gives me the option to download my 1040X, there is no special drop down menu to change between the two. I need both to fill out financial aid this year.

If you did not keep a copy or separate file of the original return then there is no original return to see any longer.   Using the downloaded version you can save a file of the amended return with a distinct file name and undo the changes to get back to the original.

Ah, ok thanks. Do you mean the downloaded version of turbotax? Could you explain in detail how I could do this?
