Well if you cannot log into the same account you will need to recreate the return that was filed, then in the FILE tab you tell the program you are going to mail in the return and close the program. Then log back in and scroll down and start the amendment process.

If they filed a joint tax return then that can only be corrected by amending that joint tax return. You cannot correct it by creating a new account.Amended returns can only be mailed. It is suggested that it be mailed certified with return receipt (or other tracking service) to verify that the IRS receives it.

Are they married? Did they file a Joint return or did she file his as Single or Married filing Separate? If she did his return in her account and then did her return then her return overwrote his and his is gone. Online is only good for 1 return per account. But you can have 5 accounts for 1 email address.
