File your tax returns now. The sooner you file, the less you will be charged for interest and penalties. File the same way as if you were filing on time. You don't have to do anything special because of filing late. You will have to update the direct debit dates.
The IRS and the state will bill you for interest and penalties for filing late and paying late. If the interest and penalties are small, they might not bother to bill you.
you can still efile - until 10./5/19 you will likely receive a penalty for late paayment. if this is the first time you can write back to the IRS requesting abatement. look on the web for examples. most of the time the iRS honors first time requests.
