I mailed in my amended NJ tax return almost 2 months ago, but IRS hasn't processed the application online -- how should I reach out?

I amended my tax return because I previously filed incorrectly and was due to payback NJ tax when I already paid for NY tax (where I work).

The IRS does not receive or process state tax returns only federal tax returns.

If you mailed your New Jersey amended return to the IRS, they probably just threw it out. You were supposed to mail it to the New Jersey Division of Taxation in Trenton.
