I made a mistake on my federal tax return after submission. Should I enter the mistaken federal values or the correct values for my state returns (resident in 2 states)?

Federal tax returns are already in the mail. Some of my state returns uses federal tax information. Should I enter the original/mistaken federal values for my state returns and amend both federal and state returns? Or should I enter the corrected/different from submitted federal tax values for my state returns and just amend the federal?

You should use the correct values for your state returns. You should also file an amended federal return to correct it.  See the following FAQ for information on how to amend your return:
