I'm trying to get the refund advance but it keeps taking me to the today page on credit karma

The refund advance involves a credit karma card.

The refund loan will not be available until later in January when you can e-file your 2021 return.   The money for the loan is not given to you until the IRS ACCEPTS your e-file.  The IRS will not begin to accept e-files until late January or early to mid-February.

You cannot apply for the refund loan.  It has to be offered to you, and you have to agree to the terms—-which have changed since last year——so read some information——and pay attention to the details in the fine print …  https://turbotax.intuit.com/refund-advance/

Actually  this year you MUST agree to open a Credit Karma Checking account that comes with a Debit card so you must agree to do this to even be considered for the advance.   Even if you are "pre approved" to  APPLY for the advance it must be offered   AND  once the return is accepted by the IRS the advance will either be approved or  not approved.  Either way the refund will go to the Credit Karma account and you cannot change it once you file.
