The TurboTax 8915-E should be available on Feb. 25 (pending IRS approval by then). Updates are usually at night so check on the 26th. Click here for detailed information.
Sorry, but I’m referring to just Alabama state taxes. I submitted my 8915 and my federal was accepted just fine. My state won’t go through because of the referenced error and nothing I do helps.
This may be related to something else. Some TurboTax Desktop customers are unable to submit their state return after previously filing their Federal return. We will be releasing an update. Please see this TurboTax FAQ for more information and how to sign up for email updates: Why am I not able to e-file my state return after filing my Federal return?
I see on the forums that many people were unable to submit their taxes using TT due to the 8915 disaster distribution loans taken out between 2018-2020 and many of those complaints were in early January. I write this on March 28, 2022. Hasn't this been fixed yet? What is causing the delay?
Good News! IRS has finalized the form 8915-F as of Friday. However, as you know, Turbotax will have to program the new forms into the system. Please allow a few more days for the system to update so that you can easily e-file your return. Thank you for your patience.
