I left out our Social Security incomes somehow and taxes were excepted. it has been just a few hours. do I have to wait to amend these returns?

I made a mistake and did not put in my Social Security Income on my just sent 2020 Tax Return just a few ours ago. both State and Federal tax returns were accepted.

It is usually best to wait until your original return(s) have been processed and you have received your expected refund before amending.  

However, waiting for the return to process is not a requirement.  As of today, the forms needed to amend a Federal return are not ready in TurboTax.  You can register your email address through the link in the article below to be notified when the amended return forms are available.  Keep the link handy for instructions about how to amend.  It will be updated after the forms are available.
