Your return is already in pending because you e-filed?  No, you cannot do anything to your return while it is in pending.   It will be a few weeks until the IRS starts to accept/reject e-files.    Until then, your return is in pending on a server where you cannot fix mistakes.   If it is rejected you can fix it and re-file.   If it is accepted, you have to wait a long time until it has been fully processed and then amend if you made a mistake.

Yet another reason to NOT rush to file especially when any return with CTC on it will not even process before late February at best.    If the return is accepted for processing and the amount on the 8812 is incorrect this will require the return to be delayed in processing for weeks or longer  and there is nothing you can do to speed up the process.   The IRS will most likely correct this error so do NOT send in an amended return until the original return has been fully processed and the refund is in your hand.
