I just realized that I accidentally forgot to sign my tax return when I mailed it. Can I resend one or wait for the first one to be sent back?

Don't mail in another return. Duplicate returns filed get very, very messy with the IRS.

I'd recommend waiting for the IRS to contact you regarding the lack of signature. They may not even contact you, though. And with the government shutdown, it may be quite some time before they actually begin processing returns. The official filing season doesn't even open until January 28, 2019.
