Why haven't I received my refund when my refund was approved?

"approved" or "accepted?"   Those words do not mean the same thing.   If you saw on the IRS refund site that your refund is approved then your refund should be on its way soon.   Where did you see the word "approved?"

TurboTax never says that your refund has been approved.   TurboTax only tells you if your return has been accepted or rejected.  TT never knows if or when your refund is approved, since the IRS does not tell TurboTax anything after you file your tax return and it has been accepted.

If you are seeing on the IRS site that your refund has been approved and issued,  the IRS tells you to allow 1-5 days for the refund to post to your account.  Have you done that?

once the IRS issues a direct deposit refund it can take several days to show up at the financial institution. if by mail it can take weeks.
