Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

I just filed my 2019 taxes on January 1, 2021 because I have found my W2 form. It was lost. I paid TurboTax already. But, am I too late? Should I not have filed online?

Online filing is not working.  You can wait until it opens again, probably around the end of January, or just print, sign, and mail your 2019 taxes.

You cannot prepare or e-file your 2019 taxes using the Online software now.  What is Online now is ONLY for 2020 taxes.

Certainly, if you have a previously prepared 2019 tax file that you printed out, and all data is is correct except for having the physical W-2, you can file them yourself by mail and take to the post Office yourself .....but you cannot e-file 2019 taxes now.

For completeing them if you haven't a copy...read this:

@MissMCJ No one will be able to just wait for e-filing to re-open and e-file a past year return.  ONLY a 2020 return can be e-filed.  Past year returns have to be printed signed and mailed.  E-filing for 2019 returns closed permanently in October.

The users who use the WRONG software and put 2019 income into the 2020 program might manage to e-file--but then they have just e-filed a completely incorrect return and will spend months going through the amending process.
