so i just amended a missing w-2 on turbo tax at the end it said my return was less then my orginal return but it never asked for any money...am i getting that amount back as well or do i now owe the irs the missing amount?

did you submit the amended return? if you did that could delay the processing of the original. if the iRS catches the omission, it may just adjust the original refund amount. do nothing until you hear from the iRS. if you have not submitted the amended return, wait until the original is fully processed. if the iRS doesn't catch the error and sends you the full original refund amount then you can file the amended return and go to the iRS website to arrange payment. don't forget about state taxes if you have them.
Your 1040 and 1040-X are processed separately.
Did you look at your 1040-X before you submitted it?
see the line that says "amount you owe".
Your 1040X, Box 20, will indicate an amount you owe after your amendment, whereas Box 22 will be the amount you want refunded to you after your amendment. Which box has information on your 1040X? This will determine whether or not you owe or will be getting a refund.
