I haven’t received my 2019 tax return & I filed via mail in Feb. I constantly check the IRS where’s my refund and it says status error. I want to file again. Should I?

I had someone prepare my taxes online for me through Turbo tax. She printed the paper out for me and I mailed it to the IRS in Feb. It’s been 9 months! I believed they never received it or lost it. Can someone please help me. I’m going crazy. I really want to file again even though the IRS encourages not too.

Are you sure you mailed the return to the correct address ?    https://www.irs.gov/filing/where-to-file-paper-tax-returns-with-or-without-a-payment

And did you use a tracking of some kind ?   If not then since you did file so early then mailing in another copy now would probably be the correct thing to do.

I did send it to the correct address and did not use tracking. I actually mailed it on the 17th of February. Do you think electronically would be better?

No.  Do not file it again.  And anyway it's too late to efile a 2019 return.  Sorry you just have to keep waiting or call the IRS to see if they are working on it.

If you mail a 2nd return and there are two returns in the IRS system at the same time, they will both be red flagged and pulled from the system for hand processing to find the problem.   With the short handed IRS, hand processing can take up to a year.
