I have submitted my return to the irs,.. A few pages back i was told i would be given the opportunity to print my return. How do I do that?

When you log into your account under the refund amount you are receiving is Print/Download PDF.

IF that doesn't work, Click My Tax Timeline in the side menu of your web page and once you get in there,  click this current year and under 'Some things you can do' you'll see the printing option as well.
