I have received a letter from New York requesting W2 forms. If turbo tax filled out my return why am I getting this letter?

There's no way for us to know for sure.  NY generally accepts the electronic report of your W-2 but they may sometimes want to verify this with hard copy.  The most common reason is that the employer did not report your wages to the state, or reported them late, or reported a different number than shown on the W-2.
