I have only received half of my tax return

The IRS will be sending you a letter about this.  Either they made an adjustment for an eror, or did an offset for an overdue debt.

Or is it for state refund?  Federal and state refunds come separately from different places.  Or were you having the fees deducted?  How much is missing?

I think one was federal and one was state. So that sounds right. I think it was only one that I received. I thought I had signed up for direct deposit though.

I did have the fees deducted, but I remember before the deduction of fees, it was about $400+.
Between state and federal, one was about $149 and the other was about $169. I might be a bit off on the amounts but that's about what I remember

I confirmed. It was my state refund.
