I have not received my return in yet. It is telling me i have to mail something but my friend did not?

In order to Successfully file your return you must Mail your return.

To PRINT & MAIL your return :

1. Click File and you’ll get to the [Your name], just (…) more steps and we'll file your returns screen.
2. Complete Steps 1 and 2 if you haven’t already done so, then click Start next to Step 3.
3. On the Let’s get ready to e-file screen, select File by mail, then on the pop-up screen make sure you select File by mail for federal and all of your states.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions to print your return.

Important: If you've selected File by Mail by mistake, you can change your filing method with the instructions below: 

• Sign into your account and click Continue your Return,
  then select the File tab.
• If you've gone through all of the steps on the <your name>, just one more step and we'll file your returns screen, click the Prepare to send button.
• On the Here are your filing choices screen, click I'd like to change filing methods.
• On the Change Filing Method popup, check the returns you wish to E-file and click Save.
  The Here are your filing choices screen now shows E-file.
